Send a form through the website at Shipping Information and Contact, contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, contact us directly on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/redsky.geckos, or go to the business page at https://www.facebook.com/lornasredskygeckos/. For urgent or time sensitive communication please use the cell phone number provided with your order. To notify us that you have received your gecko safely, please use the cell number and send a text or send us a message through Facebook Messenger.
We prefer payment by Paypal. Paypal allows you to choose your form of payment and use your bank account, debit card or credit card securely over the Internet. Our Paypal address is available upon request or we can send an invoice to your email address if you do not have a Paypal account. We will accept credit card payments over the phone (never by email, text or Facebook chat for your safety) or money orders/cashiers checks by mail. All forms of payment must clear before the shipping label will be created.
Payment plans are offered on purchases of $100 or more. We offer a 25% down non-refundable deposit to hold a gecko, meaning it will be taken off the market as a pending sale. Full payment must be made within 30 days or the deposit and any other payments will be forfeit and the gecko will revert to RSG. Payments and deposit can be applied to another gecko at our discretion but payment would be required in full at the time of purchase.
We ship overnight with Reptiles2You and FedEx to the address provided after full payment is received. UPS Next Day can be used at customer’s request. Shipping days are Monday through Wednesday for next day delivery of Tuesday through Thursday. We do not ship Thurs or Friday because this can lead to delays by the shipping company and a gecko getting held over the weekend. We only ship live animals when day and nighttime temperatures are between 35 and 85 degrees at the departure point, the arrival point and any transfer points in between (typically Memphis and Indianapolis as well as your local hub) We typically do not use heat packs due to the dangers associated with over-heating but will at the customer’s request. We will hold onto your animal (s) at no additional charge through prior arrangement when weather conditions do not permit shipping.
Shipments must be scheduled at least 1 business day in advance. Payment in full including shipping cost is required before shipment will be scheduled.
**International Shipping-shipping internationally is at the buyer's expense. Reptiles Express delivers from the U.S. to Canada and Direct Dragon Imports delivers to Europe as far as we know. Other agents would be at buyers discretion. We consider this to be a risky endeavor and do not guarantee the animal's health or welfare once it leaves our premises under these conditions. While we do our best to ensure that the animal is healthy and in proper shipping packaging for maximum safety, everything is out of our control once the gecko is delivered to the intermediary shipper the customer chooses. We consider our business concluded when the shipper confirms live delivery from us. We will not do business with any shippers who are unable or unwilling to confirm delivery.**
FedEX Express Overnight Shipping - $45 is the typical rate for a 7x7x7 box but it can be higher or lower depending on the distance and whether you are having your box held at the hub for pickup. Boxes over that size subject to a surcharge.
Shipping available anywhere in the Continental United States as long as Fedex will deliver. We will ship to Alaska. We do not ship outside the continental U.S. otherwise unless arranged by the buyer and we do not guarantee health or live delivery under those conditions.
REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR SHIPPING
Correct address, email and phone number are required. A PO Box is not acceptable. It must be a physical address and someone must be home to receive on the day of shipping or the package can be held for pickup that day at the hub. Shipping to your local hub: FedEx will hold your package for pickup at their Worldwide Ship Centers and Service Centers. They typically will not do this at store locations like former Kinkos, Office Max etc. This is a good option if you are not available in the morning, or if your weather is on the edge of too hot or too cold (box will not have to go on the truck or be in danger of being left in sunlight etc.). Please specify if shipment will be going to a residential or business address. A tracking number will be sent to your email address once your shipping label has been created. We are not responsible for deliveries made to the wrong address or delays due to carrier error. Most deliveries arrive by 10:30AM, but remote areas can have a later delivery time, depending on how far you are from your local UPS/FedEx hub.
There is no charge for animals being held due to weather concerns or delays. Animals paid in full and left at RSG for reasons other than weather safety will be assessed a boarding fee. Boarding under these conditions is $10 per week. Payment of all boarding fees will be required along with shipping fees prior to a delivery being scheduled. Animals left with us without our express permission for over 30 days will be considered abandoned and subject to resale.
In addition we do board locally for customers who need temporary housing for their geckos. All animals will be fed with the rest of the colony including live insects unless otherwise specified. Cost is $10 for a weekend or $20 per week.
Animals are guaranteed to arrive alive and healthy. Please notify us to let us know you have received your gecko as soon as it arrives to activate your warranty. Failure to contact us and let us know you have received your gecko will void the warranty. We are not responsible for animals left in cars, on porch steps or in other unsafe conditions. Contact us within the hour after arrival if there are serious problems noticed at delivery.
Geckos purchased on-line come with a one-week health guarantee.
Geckos purchased from a show are considered ‘as is’ as you have had an opportunity to inspect the gecko first hand. However, should an illness arise within the first week we ask that you contact us immediately so that we can work with you to assist the animal and/or replace it at our discretion.
If your Crested Gecko(s) exhibits any signs of poor health within the one-week period, please contact us immediately so that we can try and help remedy the issue before it’s too late. Failure to contact us within the appointed time will void any guarantee.
Photos are as accurate to gecko color as we can manage with our level of talent and technology. We do not touch them up beyond cropping or removing droppings or other unattractive features from the surroundings.
Females sold as virgins have never been exposed to a male. They may lay infertile eggs. If a female has been with a male in the last year she might be gravid with fertile eggs even if she has been separated from the male for most of that year. A proven animal is a gecko that has successfully mated and produced live offspring at some point in its life.
PROBLEMS ON ARRIVAL
If there are ANY issues with an animal upon arrival, we must be notified within one hour of delivery. If an animal is ill or DOA, photographic proof is required within those two hours, for a replacement or credit towards another animal. We will require that the animal be sent back to us for further testing or veterinary care depending on the situation.
EXCLUSIONS TO THE ONE-WEEK HEALTH GUARANTEE
DEATH DUE TO HEAT EXHUASTION IS COMMON AND PREVENTABLE. Please do not leave your gecko in a car, in a sunny window without shade, under strong heat lamps or in any temperature above 85 degrees that the gecko cannot escape. This will result in a fatality and is not covered under your guarantee.
GECKOS CAN DIE DUE TO IMPROPER DIET AND DEHYDRATION.
We recommend a varied diet of either Big Fat Geckos Smoothie Mix, Pangea Fruit Mix Complete Gecko Diet (we use Banana/Papaya), Repashy Crested Gecko diet MRP, and/or Clark’s Gecko Diet and domestic crickets/roaches dusted with calcium (without D3). Feeder insects must be sized properly so the gecko does not choke. The insect must be small enough that it will fit between the gecko’s eyes (and so down its throat). Insects should be purchased captive bred from a reliable feeder source to minimize the possibility of parasites and other issues. Spiders and other venomous insects are not appropriate prey for the gecko.
Mist the gecko’s enclosure on a daily basis or if you have a humidity gauge (recommended) then keep a humidity level of 95% once a day dropping to around 30-40% for the majority of the day. Without moisture the gecko will dehydrate and die. Conversely, too much moisture can create skin problems so misting once a day is usually adequate except in the driest part of winter. A shallow water dish that the gecko cannot drown in can be left in the enclosure to help keep the humidity level up.
GECKO TAILS ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO STAY ON. Sometimes geckos will drop their tails due to stress. This has no affect on them health-wise nor does it affect their breeding ability. Most adult geckos in the wild do not have their tails. Rarely a gecko will drop its tail in shipping. If this happens then apply a topical antibiotic such as Neosporin (without the analgesic) and keep the enclosure clean and not too moist so that the tail stub can heal.
Injuries sustained from accidents are not covered in the health guarantee. Injuries can include but are not limited to: geckos jumping from greater than 5 feet in the air and/or landing on a surface that is sharp or hard, cat/dog attacks, children rough-housing with the gecko, burns, getting caught in an enclosure door, choking on feeder insects, tail loss, over heating, or injuries sustained from cage-mates.
Any animal that is described as “Male” or “Female” is guaranteed to be sexed properly TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE. Anything sold as “probable” or unsexed is not sex guaranteed. Pore sexing is done with a 60x loupe. Sometimes a female not showing pores can suddenly develop them and turn out to be a male. This can happen up to 20 grams so females are not guaranteed until over that weight.
COLOR CHANGE AND GENETICS
Geckos are not guaranteed to produce offspring of any particular color or morph. Crested geckos in particular will often throw unexpected colors and patterns that look nothing like the parents. Geckos often change colors as they age. Some lighten, some darken, pattern becomes more or less prominent, and sometimes colors change entirely. They can also change color during the day, under stress or when wet. A normal process called ‘firing up’. Any prediction of future color or pattern by us is strictly a guess and not a guarantee. Geckos are NOT guaranteed for color. If they fire up a different color in shipping seller is not responsible for a color never seen before.
ALL GECKO PURCHASES ARE FINAL
Only order if you are 100% sure you have done your research on the species of gecko you have chosen and can afford to care for the gecko(s) properly. If there is a verifiable problem with the gecko upon arrival or within the parameters of our guarantee we will assist you with store credit or a replacement gecko of equal value. If we (sellers) agree to a return you are responsible for return shipping.
